Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we have postponed all events until further notice.
We began this spiritually inspired journey, where the vision of a church plant had been sown in the heart Dr. Terriel Byrd. On May 15, 2014 in the sanctuary of Covenant Centre International, nearly 30 devoted followers agreed with the timing of God’s move. Dr. Norman Benz, Pastor of CCI graciously became our spiritual covering and mother church.
On May 22, 2014, the Living Word Christian Community was incorporated in the State of Florida. We celebrated our first service with Pastor Benz and the Covenant Centre International church family during their 10:00am worship service. At the end of the worship May 25, 2014, Pastor Benz anointed and prayed for Pastor Byrd, his wife Toni, and all those representing LWCC in attendance for service to Almighty God.
On September 28, 2014, LWCC celebrated our last service at Covenant Centre International the way in which we started. Once again, members of the church attended the 10:00a.m. service at CCI. Pastor Benz and his leadership team prayed for and anointed LWCC members.
On October 5, 2014, LWCC held her first service at Westward Elementary School, located at 1101 Golf Avenue in West Palm Beach, FL. It became our first independent place of worship. We licensed three ministers, ordained one elder, added eighteen new members, dedicated 3 babies, and baptized many.
On Resurrection Sunday, April 5, 2015, LWCC celebrated our first service under a tent on the tennis court and baptized several in the pool of Banyan Club Apartments in West Palm Beach, FL. The church continued to experience numerical and spiritual growth. The Banyan Club House became our temporary home and established place of Worship.
On February 28, 2016 LWCC moved into our current location in the West Palm Plaza at 1965 S. Military Trail. 175 seat,3600 square feet of totally renovated space provided us a more permanent home. The ministry has continued to grow. Four deacons ordained, a church administrator, Christian education consultant added. We’ve seen the blossoming of our Learning Well Children’s Ministry and Ladies Who Choose Christ ministry. Our Mid-week fellowship meal, Worship-N-Word Prayer meeting/Bible Study, continues as a strong and vibrant part of the ministry of LWCC. Our most recent vision is nearing fruition, the Living Well Christian Home, a transitional house for single women. For all these things and more we give thanks to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We’re Building on a Strong Foundation (Ephesians 4:11-12).
